Informative Articles To Help You Understand The Courses
Not all online trainings are designed and delivered equally
For sure, COVID-19 has changed the world – the way we look at people, work, and life in general. You may have received numerous emails from different organizations, companies, et al that it is the right time to go digital and online to keep yourself professionally relevant in this hyper-competitive world. Fair enough.
You may have also received similar mails for your PMP®, Scrum, and other similar certifications in Project Management. In fact, even we have sent such emails to you 😊.
So, what is the point of this note?!
Talking about PMP®, you may be aware that you need 35 Contact Hours of project management training to be eligible for the PMP® Certification Exam.
SRISHA has been amongst the rarest of rare consulting firms that provide PMP Certification Training that spans across 5 days – 9:00am to 6:30pm. We deliver 40 hours of class-room delivery keeping aside the lunch and coffee/tea breaks. While we know even 40 hours are not adequate, we try to give the best available around you! As we know, 99.99% of our competitors deliver 4day-sessions and that too less than 8 delivery hours! They may ask you to review some pre-recorded content available on their portals – this is to make up for 35 Contact Hours.
Now that most work has moved online, most PMP Training companies are offering the same training online – remember the duration has not changed.
Well, from our experience of coaching over 5000 professionals globally, it is tough to deliver in an online format – it is human tendency to lose focus, get easily distracted, not be able to participate in a joint-learning, which according to us, is not the right way to enhance your ‘professional project management.’
Training companies are trying to smartly sell you various options for PMP Training and most of them are ‘not good’ for you!
So, how do you evaluate the various options available?
Don’t make the mistake of deciding based on lowest training cost! You could be putting $544 at risk plus the cost of retake…and more important, lowered ‘self-confidence’!
We don’t want you to be “penny wise, pound foolish”!
From what we know, below are the various options going around at this point of time and our honest view.
Options Ranked Ideal (# 1) to Worst (# 7)
Face-to-face Classroom – Nothing less than 35 delivery hours – Ideal
Online – 2 hours per day (20 continuous days) – Practically Best
Online – 4 hours per day (10 continuous days) – Practically Better
Online – 4 hours per day (Saturday and Sunday – 5 weekends) – Practically Good
Online – 8 hours per day (5 continuous days) – Practically Bad
Online – Less than 8 hours delivery per day (5 continuous days) – Practically Worse
Pre-recorded sessions irrespective of their duration! – Practically Not Recommended
We at SRISHA are on a mission to enhance project management maturity – to you as a professional and organizations!
As a professional organization, we recognized that it was our duty to guide as well as warn you of ‘not so good options’ that are floating around on various digital platforms!
