Organizational goals are achieved through appropriate choice of strategies. These strategies translate into choice of portfolios that the company wishes to pursue. Organizations which provide multiple products and services have a difficult task of ensuring that the available resources are deployed to portfolios that directly or indirectly impact strategies.
